The host venue for the 2014 PedsCount! Summit will be the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria (828 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814) and the Sierra/Coastal Hearing Rooms of the Cal/EPA Building (1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814) right across the street.

Ground Transportation & Air Travel

We strongly encourage you to consider taking Amtrak, public transit, walking, biking, and/or carpooling to lessen the impact on our environment.

Rail Transportation – Amtrak
The Sacramento Valley Station (SAC) is the seventh busiest Amtrak station in the nation, the terminus of the transcontinental railroad, and located less than half a mile from the Summit  (4 blocks). The station is served by the California Zephyr, the Capitol Corridor, the Coast Starlight, and the San Joaquin, along with Amtrak Thruway Motorcoaches. Participants arriving by Amtrak can transfer to Gold Line (toward Folsom) or Regional Transit Bus Route 30, located North of the Depot Building next to the Light Rail Platforms. The Gold Line and Route 30 provide direct service to the Library Galleria from the station every 15 minutes.

Public Transit
Sacramento offers an extensive bus and light rail transportation system that much of the northern Sacramento area, allowing participants access to the city’s most exciting attractions. The Library Galleria is close to both light rail and public bus stops on a pedestrian-friendly transit line. The nearest light rail stations are located at 8th & H (Northbound) and 7th & I (Southbound). The nearest bus stops are located at 8th and I (Northbound), 9th & I (Southbound), and 9th & J (Eastbound)

As our local transportation sponsor, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (Sac RT) will be providing free transit passes to Summit attendees. Passes will be available upon request at registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Normal fares are $2.50 one-way (no transfers) or $6.00 for a day pass. Exact fare is required as operators do not carry change. Air Travel
Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is the main commercial airport in the Sacramento Valley. Airlines serving Sacramento are Aeromexico, Alaska, American, Delta, Hawaiian, Horizon, JetBlue, Southwest and United, US Airways, and Volaris. After the Summit, please note that the Sacramento County Airport System recommends arriving 90 minutes before your scheduled departure.

Ground Transportation Options To / From SMF
Yolobus : Yolobus provides public transit service between downtown Sacramento and Sacramento International Airport (SMF) on Routes 42A (from SMF to downtown) and 42B (from downtown to SMF). See full schedule here. Regular one-way fare is $2.00 or $6.00 for a daily pass. Reduced fares are available to eligible seniors, youths and persons with disabilities (one-way $1.00 or $3.00 for a daily pass). Exact change is required.

Taxi: The distance from the Sacramento International Airport (SMF) to the Library Galleria  is approximately 12 miles. The estimated cab fare between the airport and the hotel is $40 one-way.
