What You Can Do
- Attend the Hearings. If you are live in the Sacramento area, we strongly encourage you to attend the hearings and to show your support for walking and bicycling at these committee hearings.
- Send Letter of Support. If you don’t live in the Sacramento area, show your support by submitting a letter to the Committee Chairs:
Assembly Budget: Phil Ting (District 19)
Assembly Budget Subcommittee 3 (Resources & Transportation): Richard Bloom (District 50)
Senate Budget: Holly J. Mitchell (District 30)
Senate Budget Subcommittee 2 (Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation): Bob Wieckowski (District)
Assembly Transportation: Jim Frazier (District 11)
Senate Transportation & Housing: Jim Beall (District 15)
Assembly Public Safety: Reginald B. Jones-Sawyer, Sr. (District 59)
Senate Public Safety: Nancy Skinner (District 9)
Assembly Appropriations: Lorena Gonzalez (District 80)
Senate Appropriations: Ricardo Lara (District 33)
- Call your Assemblymember and/or Visit his/her District Office. Express your support for walking, bicycling, and Safe Routes to School to your legislator’s staff, and let them know how important these bills are to making it safer to walk and bicycle in your area. This is especially important if your member is on one of the Committees hearing the bills.
